In the first 11 months of the current year, Georgia's total external trade turnover with Turkey, which is the top trading partner of the country, amounted to $1.77 billion, including exports of $218.9 million, up 28.8 percent, and imports of $1.55 billion, up 29.8 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In the first 11 months, semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel ranked third among Georgia's most exported products to Turkey, amounting to 60,483 metric tons, up 2.6 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the value of these exports totaled $29.14 million, up 5.66 percent year on year. Exports from Georgia to Turkey of the semi-finished products in question had amounted to 58,933 metric tons in the same period of 2013.
On the other hand, in the January-November period this year, Georgia's imports of tubes and pipes of iron from Turkey increased by 40.6 percent to 42,168 metric tons, while the value of these imports totaled $34.7 million, up 37.2 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
