Georgia's semi-finished exports to Turkey up 16.1 percent in Jan-Oct

In the first 10 months of the current year, Georgia's total external trade turnover with Turkey, which is the top trading partner of the country, amounted to $1.6 billion, including exports of $195.04 million, up 27.3 percent, and imports of $1.4 billion, up 31.6 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

In the first 10 months, semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel ranked third among Georgia's most exported products to Turkey, amounting to 56,431 metric tons, up 16.1 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the value of these exports totaled $27.22 million, up 19.3 percent year on year. Exports from Georgia to Turkey of the semi-finished products in question had amounted to 22,825 metric tons in the same period of 2013.
 
On the other hand, in the January-October period this year, Georgia's imports of tubes and pipes of iron from Turkey increased by 9.1 percent to 13,673 metric tons, while the value of these imports totaled $34.7 million, up 18.3 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
