Georgia’s semi-finished export volume to Turkey up 2% in Jan-Aug

In the first eight months of the current year, Georgia's total external trade turnover with Turkey, which is the top trading partner of the country, amounted to $987 million, including exports worth $133.11 million, down 15.77 percent, and imports worth $854.85 million, decreasing 22.5 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
 
In the first eight months, semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel ranked third among Georgia's most exported products to Turkey, amounting to 50,540 metric tons, up two percent year on year. Meanwhile, the value of these exports totaled $18.42 million, down 23 percent year on year.
 
On the other hand, in the given period, Georgia's imports of tubes and pipes of iron from Turkey totaled $23.56 million, rising by 4.17 percent on year-on-year basis.
