Georgia’s semi-finished exports to Turkey down 65.7 percent in Q1

In the first quarter of the current year, Georgia's total external trade turnover with Turkey, which is the top trading partner of the country, amounted to $361 million, including exports of $40.77 million, down 17.5 percent, and imports worth $320 million, remaining almost unchanged, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
 
In the first three months of this year, semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel ranked third among Georgia's most exported products to Turkey, amounting to 8,113 metric tons, down 65.7 percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, the value of these exports totaled $3.11 million, down 70 percent year on year.

On the other hand, in the given quarter, Georgia's imports of tubes and pipes of iron from Turkey totaled $9.66 million, rising by 60 percent on year-on-year basis.
