In the first six months of the current year, Georgia's total external trade turnover with Turkey, which is the top trading partner of the country, amounted to $756 million, including exports of $109.35 million, down 2.6 percent, and imports worth $646.35 million, down 22 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In the first half of this year, semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel ranked third among Georgia's most exported products to Turkey, amounting to 44,780 metric tons, up 3.8 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the value of these exports totaled $16.46 million, down 21 percent year on year.
On the other hand, in the given period, Georgia's imports of tubes and pipes of iron from Turkey totaled $20 million, rising by 33.8 percent on year-on-year basis.
