FTA talks between Malaysia and Japan collapse

Malaysian and Japanese officials broke off Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations since the parties couldn't reach an agreement on auto and steel sectors. The talks regarding the FTA started yesterday; however talks ended without an agreement since Malaysian officials were reluctant to review the policy on auto and steel sectors to protect domestic industry. A new round of talks are reportedly to start in Japan in June.
