France's steel product import value up 27.8 percent in January-July

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the first seven months of this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €5.49 billion, increasing by 27.8 percent year on year.

During the period in question, France imported €1.04 billion of steel pipes and tubes - up 12.3 percent, €382.14 million of cold rolled steel strip - rising by 24.7 percent, €229.64 million of cold drawn wire - growing  by 5.7 percent, €224.39 million of cold rolled steel bars - up eight percent, and €949.66 million of metal structures and parts - increasing by eight percent, all compared to the January-July period of 2016.
