France’s industrial output down 1.5 percent in September over August

According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), the country's industrial production in September decreased 1.5 percent month on month, following a monthly increase of 2.8 percent recorded in August.

In September, France's production in manufacture of metals and metal products decreased by 4.7 percent, the production of the automotive industry declined by 7.9 percent, while the output of the construction industry increased slightly by 0.1 percent, all compared to August.

On the other hand, in the third quarter of 2009, production in the manufacture of metals and metal products rose 7.8 percent, output of the automotive industry increased by 20.7 percent and output of the construction industry decreased by 3.5 percent, all compared to the second quarter of this year.
