Fixed investment in Mexico registered an increase for the 29th time, growing 29.1 percent in July, year-over-year. It is also the 10th double-digit increase, according to SteelOrbis' analysis of data from the national statistics office Inegi.
The index that measures fixed investment (gross fixed capital investment) stood at 114.1 points in June, 1.8 percent below the 116.3 points in June, which registered a new historical record last month.
Of the two major areas that make up investment, construction increased 37.4 percent, year-over-year in July. Residential construction increased 3.5 percent and non-residential construction grew 71.1 percent.
Investment in machinery and equipment increased 19.8 percent. That of national origin grew 17.5 percent and that imported rose 21.3 percent.
