Evraz starts railroad wheel deliveries to Turkey

Russian mining and steel producing company Evraz Group has stated that its Nizhny Tagil-based subsidiary Evraz NTMK has completed production of a batch of wheels for freight railcars under contract with Turkish State Railways (TCDD).

2,000 wheels of the newly launched BA 002 type 920 mm in diameter, made of ER7 steel grade) will be shipped by the end of March.

Representatives of Turkish State Railways audited the wheels for correctness of their specifications and mechanical properties. The tests proved full compliance with the customer's requirements. The customer confirmed its satisfaction with the quality of wheels and expressed interest in working with Evraz in the future.

This is the first time Evraz NTMK has produced BA 002 type wheels. The experience gained launching the new product will be used in developing other wheel products.
