The Russian iron ore and steel producer Evraz Group (Evraz) has issued its second quarter 2007 production results.
Accordingly, during the April-June 2007 period, Evraz produced 3.2 million mt of pig iron - down 3.7 percent, 4.2 million mt of crude steel - down 0.5 percent, and 3.8 million mt of finished steel products - up 2.9 percent, all compared to the corresponding period of 2006.
In its mining division, during the period in question Evraz saw a 74.3 percent year on year increase in its iron ore concentrate output, a nine percent rise in its pellets output and a 165 percent increase in its coking coal mining output. The respective figures in metric tons were 1.02 million, 1.62 million and 515,000. However, Evraz registered an 18.1 percent decrease in its sinter production year on year to 1.84 million in the second quarter of 2007.
