EU’s HRC imports down 9.5 percent in January-October

According to data from the European Commission, in the January-October period of the current year, hot rolled coil (HRC) imports into the EU amounted to 5.73 million mt, down 9.5 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 30.62 percent to €2.75 billion, both year on year.

In the given period, the EU imported 1.92 million mt of HRC from Asia and Australia, up 18.15 percent, 1.51 million mt from Turkey, up 110 percent, 544,357 mt from Russia, down 65.3 percent, 531,812 mt from Ukraine, down 33 percent, and 331,905 mt from Serbia, up 34.6 percent, all year on year.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, in October this year the EU imposed definitive antidumping duties on HRC imports from Russia and Ukraine. The duties range between €17.6/mt and €96.5/mt for Russia and stand at €60.5/mt for Ukraine.
