The European Commission (EC) has announced that it has terminated the antidumping (AD) duty investigation regarding imports of low carbon ferrochrome originating in China, Russia and Turkey.

The investigation was launched on June 23, 2017, upon the application lodged by the Association of European ferroalloy producers (Euroalliages) on behalf of the sole EU producer of low carbon ferrochrome, Elektrowerk Weisweiler GmbH, claiming that imports of low carbon ferrochrome from China, Russia and Turkey are being dumped and are thereby causing material injury to the EU industry.

The commission stated that the complainant withdrew its complaint and accordingly it did not consider it necessary to analyze the comments received from interested parties regarding the initiation of the investigation and regarding the preliminary findings spelled out in the information document mentioned in recital. The commission did not impose any measures on the mentioned imports.

The products in question currently fall within CN code 7202 49 50.
