ESTAR to build new HBI plant in Rostov

The Russian steel producer ESTAR Holding (ESTAR) plans to begin construction works on its new hot briquetted iron (HBI) plant in the country's Rostov region in 2008.

The new plant, named South Rostov Metallurgical Plant (URMZ), will have an annual production capacity of one million metric tons.

ESTAR has chosen German company SMS Demag AG as the main supplier of equipment for its new plant.
