Iranian state-owned steelmaker Esfahan Steel produced 2.71 million mt of long steel products (mainly I-beam and rebar) in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (started March 21 2009), up about eight percent on the 2.24 million mt of longs produced in the corresponding period of the previous year - according to the newly published figures from the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
Meanwhile, in the period in question Esfahan Steel produced about 1.65 million mt of semi-finished steel (billet and bloom), showing no significant change year on year, also according to IMIDRO.
