Emirates Steel to start building integrated plant

SteelOrbis has been informed that Emirates Steel Industries (ESI) is to commence the construction of an integrated steel plant in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with a planned production capacity of 1,400,000 tons of steel a year. The plant will include an electric arc furnace (EAF), a ladle furnace (LF) and a continuous caster unit.

620,000 tons of 8, 10 and 12 mm rebar and 480,000 tons of wire rod will be produced annually at the plant in question.
