Cut-length plate exports from the US drop nearly 10 percent in September

US exports of cut-length plate totaled 84,344 mt in September, down 9.9 percent from August and down 8.2 percent from September 2015 levels. By value, exports totaled $76.6 million, down 9.3 percent month-on-month and down 9.4 percent year-on-year.
 
The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Mexico in September, with 41,059 mt, compared to 36,903 mt in August and 39,661 mt in September 2015. Other top destinations included Canada, with 40,570 mt; there were no other notable destinations with tonnage levels surpassing 1,000 mt.
