Brazilian steelmaker Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN) is considering the sale of an 8 percent stake at mining company Casa de Pedra, the company’s CEO, Benjamin Steinbruch, said late last week during a Q3 conference call with analysts.

“It’s something I wish. If I have to sell 8 percent of (Casa de Pedra) to solve company issues, I’ll do it. But the right moment has to come. It’s a matter of opportunity,” he said.

Steinbruch also said the sale of a CSN mill in Germany is still ongoing. “It’s a matter of price,” he said, adding the deal is uncertain, as it depends on both parties, buyer and seller, to reach an agreement.
