Corus to cut 41 jobs due to centralisation initiatives

According to recent market reports, the Anglo-Dutch steel producer Corus is going to cut 41 jobs throughout a nine month period with the purpose to centralize its service centers located in midlands of England. It is also reported that Corus will discuss with labor unions about the employees impacted by the job cuts and is intending to secure counselling and support services for the employees. In this nine month period, company is planning to move its strip products service centers to its coil-slitting business and automotive service centers. Besides, a multi-strand blanking line, narrow slitting and decoiling lines and a secondary processing equipment will be relocated.
