Corus Construction & Industrial based in Scunthorpe, UK has announced increases in its prices for reversing mill plate and structural sections.

As a consequence, Corus will be increasing base prices for reversing mill plate by £60/mt ($118/mt) effective for all dispatches from June 1, 2008. It will also be raising base prices for structural sections by £80/mt ($158/mt). This latter change will apply to all structural sections dispatched from June 29, 2008.

The price increases are a direct consequence of high global demand for steel as well as the increases in the cost of raw materials.
