Livonia, Michigan-based Contractors Steel Co. Friday announced the acquisition of Steel Sales & Services Inc.’s East Chicago location. Terms of the deal are not immediately available.

Contractors Steel, a steel service center operator, has three facilities in Michigan and one in Ohio, and has already sold products in the Chicago market. The company hopes to further expand its business into Illinois and Indiana with the purchase of the 120,000 square-foot facility. Additionally, steel processing operations at the company’s Detroit-area facilities will be shared with the East Chicago location.

Steel Sales & Services, now called Synergy Steel Structures Inc., will continue to operate a service center in Lansing, Michigan.
