Colombian iron and steel exports down 16.8 percent in January-September

In the first nine months of this year, Colombia exported 99,245 mt of ferronickel, down 0.5 percent, with a value of $352.7 million, down by 28 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In September this year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 13,910 mt, rising by 1.8 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $36.9 million, down 49.6 percent, both compared to September 2014.
 
In the first nine months of the current year, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 145,671 mt, down 16.8 percent, with a value of $419.9 million, declining by 29.2 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In September this year, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 19,754 mt, increasing by 4.6 percent, and were worth $45.6 million, down 43.1 percent, both compared to the same month of 2014.
