Colombian iron and steel exports down 0.3 percent in Jan-Oct

In the first ten months of the current year, Colombia exported 106,617 mt of ferronickel, up 0.3 percent, with a value of $264.76 million, decreasing by 28.6 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In October this year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 8,511 mt, rising by 21.5 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $24.06 million, up 33 percent, both compared to September last year.
 
In the January-October period of this year, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 159,667 mt, down 0.3 percent, with a value of $331.15 million, declining by 26.3 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In October this year, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 18,632 mt, increasing by 28.3 percent, and were worth $35.65 million, down 20.4 percent, both compared to the same month of 2015.
