In the first ten months of 2018, Colombia exported 116,045 mt of ferronickel, up 31.9 percent, with a value of $496.9 million, increasing by 78.1 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In October this year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 12,638 mt, increasing by 6.7 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $52.37 million, up 18.4 percent, both compared to October 2017.
In the January-October period of this year, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 206,519 mt, up 25 percent, with a value of $658.25 million, rising by 68 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In October, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 19,043 mt, decreasing by 26.5 percent, and were worth $64.55 million, up 7.4 percent, both compared to the same month of 2017.
