In the first 11 months of 2018, Colombia exported 119,085 mt of ferronickel, up 16.8 percent, with a value of $509.78 million, increasing by 55.8 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In November last year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 3,040 mt, falling by 78.2 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $12.8 million, down 73.5 percent, both compared to November 2017.
In the January-November period of last year, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 213,633 mt, up 15.5 percent, with a value of $667.95 million, rising by 51.1 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In November, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 7,113 mt, decreasing by 63.9 percent, and were worth $19.7 million, down 65.4 percent, both compared to the same month of 2017.
