Eastern China's Zhejiang Province-based CNOOC (China National Offshore Oil Cooperation) Kingland Pipeline Co., Ltd has recently succeeding in developing and producing N80 grade electric weld resistant (ERW) oil well casing pipe and in gaining the approval of the national pipe authority in China for this product.

Consequently, CNOOC Kingland can now accept orders for the mass production of N80 ERW oil well casing pipes of maximum diameter of 508 mm and wall thickness of 18 mm. The manufacturer expects to produce 30,000 mt per year of the said products.

Established in May 2005, CNOOC Kingland, a 51:49 joint venture between state-owned CNOOC subsidiary CNOOC Oil Base Group and privately-owned Kingland Group (one of the biggest pipe manufacturers in China), has an annual capacity of 300,000 mt, mainly focused on the production of large diameter ERW pipes including line pipes, structural pipes and OCTG pipes.
