The Canadian International Trade Tribunal determined Friday that there is a reasonable indication that the alleged dumping of certain carbon steel welded pipe from Chinese Taipei, the Republic of India, the Sultanate of Oman, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, the Republic of Turkey and the United Arab Emirates and the subsidizing of the above-mentioned goods from the Republic of India, the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates have caused injury or retardation or are threatening to cause injury to the domestic industry.
The CITT's inquiry was conducted pursuant to the "Special Import Measures Act" as a result of the initiation of dumping and subsidizing investigations by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). The CBSA will continue its investigations and, by August 13, 2012, will issue preliminary determinations.
