CISA: China’s average daily crude steel output drops in mid-Oct.

The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) has announced that in mid-October (Oct. 11-20) this year the average aggregate daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China totaled 1.7117 million mt, down 2.97 percent compared to early October (Oct. 1-10). Meanwhile, the average aggregate daily crude steel production of all steelmakers in China in mid-October was estimated at 2.1068 million mt, indicating a decrease of one percent compared with early October.
 
According to the CISA's previous figures, in early October this year the average aggregate daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China had amounted to 1.7641 million mt, down 1.34 percent compared to late September (September 21-30). In early October, the average aggregate daily crude steel production of all steelmakers in China was estimated at 2.1281 million mt, indicating a decrease of 1.11 percent compared with late September.
 
Meanwhile, as of October 20 this year, inventory of the main finished steel products in the major steel markets in China totaled 13.788 million mt, up 285,800 mt as compared to the figure recorded on October 10.
