One of the largest Russian pipe producers, ChTPZ Group, has announced that in January-August this year its subsidiary Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant (ChTPZ) will deliver about 44,000 mt of large diameter (LD) pipes for the construction of a new water supply system on Russky Island in Vladivostok, Russia.

According to the contract, ChTPZ is to supply LD pipes of 1,020 mm and 1,220 mm diameter, of 12 mm and 14 mm wall thickness, with internal and external anticorrosive coating.

To fulfill the order in question, CHPTZ will for the first time use its new internal anticorrosive coating line. The construction project for this new line, which cost €16 million in investments, was implemented at ChTPZ in 2009 within the framework of the company's strategy to fulfill the requirements of fuel and energy companies, which are the main consumers of these products. The new internal coating line, with an annual capacity of up to 400,000 mt of pipes, was constructed at ChTPZ's pipe electric-welding workshop No. 6.
