According to data released by China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), in mid-August, the average daily crude steel output of the seventy-six major steel companies which are member companies of the association was 1.63 million mt, slightly up 0.21 percent compared to early-August. According to the estimates, in the given period, the average crude steel output in China came to 1.947 million mt, rising by 0.25 percent compared to early-August.
Meanwhile, the average crude steel output during the period of August 1-20 was 1.945 million mt, up 1.67 percent compared to the corresponding period of July.
The completion of mill overhauls and the relief of electricity supply seen in the beginning of August are attributed to the slight recovery of the average daily output of crude steel.
