China’s crude steel output down 1.8 percent in January-July

In July this year, China’s pig iron, crude steel and finished steel outputs amounted to 57.33 million mt, 65.84 million mt and 92.30 million mt, down 4.8 percent, decreasing by 4.6 percent and declining by 1.9 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on August 12.

In the first seven months of the year, China’s pig iron, crude steel and finished steel outputs totaled 414.27 million mt, 476.04 million mt and 650.91 million mt, down 2.8 percent, decreasing by 1.8 percent and rising by 1.5 percent year on year, respectively.
