China’s shipbuilding output reaches 76.65 million dwt in 2011

In 2011, China's shipbuilding output reached 76.65 million dwt, up 16.9 percent year on year, while new ship orders during the year totaled 36.22 million dwt, down 51.9 percent year on year, as announced by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

At the end of December, orders at China's shipyards totaled 149.91 million dwt, down 23.5 percent year on year.
