Hebei Province-based Chinese steel producer Handan Iron and Steel Co. (Hansteel), a subsidiary of Hebei Iron and Steel Group, has announced that at the end of December 2011 it received an order for 8,100 mt of pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) from Israel, which will be used to produce sandwich plates for use in construction.
As of January 4, Hansteel had produced 220 mt of qualified PPGI for the order and expects to complete production of the entire order by February 20.
