China’s ship imports and exports decline in February over January

According to statistics released by the Chinese customs authorities, in the January-February period this year China's exports of ships totaled $6.722 billion in value, up 65.73 percent year on year, while the country's imports of ships in this period totaled $220 million, increasing by 24.63 percent year on year.

In February, China's exports of ships reached $2.93 billion in value, up by 59.88 percent year on year but down $864 million month on month, marking the lowest monthly level since October 2009. On the other hand, China's imports of ships in February reached $107 million in value, up by 49.9 percent year on year but down $6 million month on month, marking the lowest monthly level since February 2009.
