China’s scrap exports surge to 2,035,373 mt in January-November

In November this year, China exported 364,018 mt of scrap, compared to just 39 mt of scrap exports in November 2016, according to the monthly import and export data issued by the Chinese customs authorities.

In the January-November period of the current year, China exported 2,035,373 mt of scrap, compared to 985 mt in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, China imported 180,000 mt of scrap in November this year, down 18.7 percent year on year. In the January-November period this year, China imported 2.1 million mt of scrap, up 9.7 percent year on year.
