China’s scrap exports amount to 164,183 mt in Q1

In March this year, China exported 34,530 mt of steel scrap, compared to 653 mt of scrap exports in March 2017, according to the monthly import and export data issued by the Chinese customs authorities. 

In the January-March period of this year, China exported 164,183 mt of scrap, compared to 721 mt in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, China imported 170,000 mt of scrap in March, down 19.3 percent year on year. In the January-March period, China imported 460,000 mt of scrap, decreasing by 33.8 percent year on year.
