According to China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China's November crude steel output saw a 0.2 percent year-on-year decrease, while the finished steel output increased 7.8 percent as compared to the same month of the previous year. Meanwhile, in the first eleven months, China's crude steel output amounted to 630.98 million mt, increasing 9.8 percent as compared to the same period of the previous year. In the given period, the finished steel output reached 810.14 million mt, up 13.1 percent year on year.

However, China's Jan-Nov crude steel output this year exceeded the whole year volume for the last year. According to the data, China's crude steel output last year totaled 626.65 million mt. As previously predicted, China's crude steel output in 2011 is expected to exceed 650 million mt and account for 40 percent of the world's crude steel output.
