Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending December 6, the US rotary rig count decreased by three to 799 rigs following a one-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by two to 133, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by five to 663. The overall rig count is now down by 276 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 12 to 138 rigs in the week ending December 6, following an 11-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 48 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
