Bri-Chem completes new seamless pipe manufacturing plant

Edmonton, Alberta-based Bri-Chem Corp. announced Thursday that its large diameter seamless steel pipe manufacturing facility in Edmonton has completed installation of all major equipment modules for production, testing and finishing. The manufacturing facility now operates as a fully operational throughput production process with the recent installation and commissioning of an automated conveyor system utilizing programmable logic control (PLC). The newly commissioned PLC will be utilized to move raw material into the facility for production and move finished steel pipe out of the facility for shipping.

"We are very pleased to see the Thermal Pipe Expansion (TPE) mill fully operational" stated Don Caron, Chief Executive officer of Bri-Chem, "Management can now focus on increasing production as we expect to experience considerable efficiency benefits related to the conveyor upgrade."

Bri-Chem is a North American wholesale distributor and manufacturer of oil and gas drilling fluids and steel pipe.
