Minas Gerais state prosecutors (MPMG) have proposed a conduct adjustment commitment term (TAC) for the mining arm of local steelmaker Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN), according to a media report from G1.

MPMG wants CSN-owned iron ore producer CSN Mineracao to correct irregularities at the company’s Casa de Pedra iron ore mine, in the city of Congonhas, in the state of Minas Gerais.

A technical report by MPMG said there was a risk of a collapse for the iron ore waste dam. CSN is expected to evaluate MPMG’s proposals and resume discussions with prosecutors. A CSN study said a dam burst could reach about 1,500 people.
