Brazil exported 8,800 mt of steel plate in April, against 7,200 mt in March and 4,200 mt in February, according to customs data.
The exports of April were destined to South American countries (7,700mt at $1,271/mt) and to Trinidad and Tobago (1,100 mt at $764/mt), FOB conditions.
The exports include 5,500 mt at $1,455/mt, shipped by Usiminas to Argentina, probably the last plate shipment destined for the Vaca Muerta pipeline, which had the preparation of the pipes concluded by Tenaris recently.
The exporters were Usiminas (6,800 mt at $1,333/mt), ArcelorMittal (1,800 mt at $749/mt), and Traders (200 mt at $1,072/mt).
Meanwhile, Brazil imported in April 22,800 mt of plates, against 22,600 mt in March. The imports were from European countries, of which 21,400 mt at $884/mt from Austria, also FOB conditions.
