BMZ plans to set up new flats workshop

Byelorussian Iron and Steel Works (BMZ) has announced plans to set up a new flat steel rolling workshop with an annual production capacity of 500,000-1 million metric tons. The construction works are planned to start in 2009 and to be completed within two-three years.

In addition, by 2009 BMZ is planning to complete its technical upgrade program which will allow the mill to increase its crude steel production by 40 percent to three million metric tons per annum, and consequently to completely satisfy the needs of the new flat steel production facility.
