Baotou Iron and Steel exports 283,000 mt in Q1

Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region-based Baotou Iron and Steel Co. maintained good momentum in the export market in the first quarter of 2008 with total steel exports of 283,000 mt, up 35 percent year on year. In March, the producer successfully exported wide plates to South Korea. In addition, in late March Malaysia completed imports of 83,000 mt of steel rails from Baotou Iron and Steel Co.
