Baosteel expands range of underwater pipe products

Major Chinese steel producer Baosteel has announced its success in developing longitudinal welded pipes with 762 mm diameter and 30.2-31.8 mm wall thickness for application in underwater pipelines. The company is the first producer in China to develop underwater pipes of the given specifications.

The longitudinal welded pipes in question are in particular used in underwater natural gas exploitation projects. To date, Chinese demand for the products in question has mainly been dependent on imports.
