Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has urged government members to focus on  stimulus investment programs for the modernization of Ukrainian industry, adding that technological backwardness would reflect badly on the country.

Mr. Azarov said the country's steel industry requires immediate reanimation, since "if in the next few years the investment reorganization problem of the sector is not solved, the rate of renovation in the world steel industry will leave domestic mills behind, with no chance in foreign markets."

He aslo added that the government is prepared to provide "essential help and maximum support" for investment projects for the domestic steel industry.
