Average HRB 400 rebar price in China down 3.8 percent in mid-March

In mid-March (March 11-20) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were recorded at RMB 3,978.4/mt ($630.3/mt), RMB 4,083.8/mt ($647.0/mt), RMB 4,241.1/mt ($671.9/mt), RMB 4,160.3/mt ($659.1/mt), RMB 5,322.4/mt ($843.2/mt) and RMB 4,371.6/mt ($692.6/mt), down RMB 159.3/mt ($25.2/mt), RMB 149.5/mt ($23.7/mt), RMB 28.7/mt ($4.5/mt), RMB 109.4/mt ($17.3/mt), RMB 18.6/mt ($2.9/mt),and RMB 43.7/mt ($6.9/mt), i.e., down 3.8 percent, 3.5 percent, 0.7 percent, 2.6 percent, 0.3 percent and 1.0 percent, compared to prices in early March (March 1-10), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.
