Average HRB 400 rebar price in China down 3.5 percent in late Jan

In late January (January 21-30) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipe and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were recorded at RMB 2,518.6/mt ($410.9/mt), RMB 2,626.8/mt ($428.5/mt), RMB 2,674.8/mt ($436.3/mt), RMB 2,825.0/mt ($460.8/mt), RMB 3,642.1/mt ($594.1/mt) and RMB 2,881.2/mt ($470.0/mt), down RMB 92.7/mt ($15.1/mt), RMB 81.6/mt ($13.3/mt), RMB 152.5/mt ($24.9/mt), RMB 145.5/mt ($23.7/mt), RMB 36.7/mt ($6.0/mt) and RMB 66.2/mt ($10.8/mt), indicating respective decreases of 3.5 percent, 3.0 percent, 5.4 percent, 4.9 percent, 1.0 percent and 2.2 percent compared to prices in mid-January (January 11-20), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics on February 4.
