Jiangsu Province, China-based Feida Group has recently started to install its 250 mt per hour Consteel® electric arc furnace (EAF) which has a designed annual capacity of 2.2 million mt, the largest EAF capacity in Asia. The EAF is scheduled to come on stream within the current month of May.

The EAF has been supplied by Italian equipment producer Tenova. The mix of charge of the Consteel® EAF shall be scrap combined with a small percentage of pig iron. The Consteel® solution has been selected in light of the limited electric energy requirement and thanks to the environmental advantages that have great importance in a growing residential area like Jiangsu Province.
