Argentinian industrial production up in April

Argentinian industrial production in April rose 3.4 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by the nation’s statistics agency, Indec.

Industrial production in the local automotive segment surged 27.2 percent in April, year-on-year. As for the local metal mechanic sector, industrial output grew 1.6 percent in April, year-on-year.

According to Indec’s qualitative survey, which measured the expectancies of the country’s industrial companies for the May-July period, on a year-on-year basis, 58.5 percent expect a stable pace for domestic demand. On the other hand, another 19.7 percent forecast an increase in demand, while 21.8 percent expect a decline.

Out of the interviewed exporting companies, 57.7 percent expect a stable May-July period for exports, also on a year-on-year analysis.  Additionally, 26.4 percent foresee an increase and 15.9 percent expect a decline in the industry’s exports in the same period.
