Argentinian industrial production falls in November

Argentinian industrial output in November dropped 13.3 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by the nation’s statistics agency (Indec) this week.

Industrial production in the local automotive segment in November decreased 14.8 percent, year-on-year. Following the same downtrend, industrial production in the local metal mechanic sector in November declined 26.2 percent, also on year-on-year basis.

Indec’s qualitative survey, which measured the expectancies of the country’s industrial companies for the December 2018 – February 2019 period, indicated 35.2 percent expect a stable pace for domestic demand, on a year-on-year basis. Another 9.4 percent anticipate an increase in demand, while 55.4 percent foresee a decline.

Out of the interviewed exporting companies, 43.7 percent an expect a stable December 2018 – February 2019 period for exports, also on a year-on-year basis. Additionally, 31.6 percent expect an increase, while 24.7 percent anticipate a decline in exports in the same period.
